I had random problems for several years with my 2001 Moondust V70 not idling correctly, rough driving, and having power problems. It ended up being a Variable Valve Timing solenoid sticking. The dealer looked at it twice and couldn't find the problem. The ETM was replaced twice. Eventually it got bad enough that I was able to simply unplug the VVT solenoid and all the problems went away but the car had reduced performance while VVT solenoid was unplugged and it set a code for unplugged. The wiring harness had to be modified to connect to the newer style VVT solenoid and the car has been running perfectly since that fix was installed.
