Fit your wagon with a dual outrigger kit and couple of outboards? Couple of months in The Pond is gonna be fun, right?

Yikes! Sorry to hear about the knee. You must be just turning 40 right? Isn't that when guys are supposed to blow their knees out?

Hopefully you manage to get back alright. Take advantage of those shuttles people carriers in the airports if the have them!

I believe, and this would be very bad if it ends up being true, but I think my SECOND USED AW55's oil pump is whining - possibly a clogged filter. The whine is very loud at 0C temps (32f). I mean I was hoping it was the PS pump, but the sound is definitely coming the right side(when looking at the engine), and I have nothing there but my throttle body. Giving the car gas increases the sound so it is affected by revs.

This is bad, I have a vacation planned with my girlfriend at a ski resort on Christmas, cant leave me yet.

Plan 1: Backflush it. I could build something using this sprayer, filling it with the oil I drain from the transmission(3-4 quarts oughta do it).

And I will install this fitting on the drain plug:

Now the idea here is that I would use an air compressor to force air into this tank, that would push the old oil through the lower hose, back through the oil pump and eventually back through the filter and past the fitting, possibly unclogging some portion of the filter. I tried this once before but before installing the transmission, the only issue was that air was coming out of the torque converter seal before. I thought I did good, but it wasn't enough apparently.

The only issue is oil quantity flow. if I can get this to flow a lot, it would be better, the more quantity I can push at a given second, the better for the filter.

I can't picture how it can work.

Had to open this transmission and replace the filter and torque converter before installing it.

Some have done it with success, backflushing the transmission to the point of all crap or enough of it coming out the drain plug.

I wish you good luck on this. I really hope it works as planned!

Today went and picked up the new double-Din Alpine head unit for the 'new' V70 AWD. I'm thinking of trying to fit this myself as there is already a bluetooth older single-Din Pioneer unit fitted. Just hope the wiring has not been butchered by the installer of that unit. Now I have finally got the Toyota back, I can take the V70 off the road for a few days to try this install, or at least pull the head unit and surround to see what is going on behind there. Wish me luck as I hate working on electrics!

The V70 is growing on me, although, being large, I don't understand why both the P80 V70R and this 06 V70 both seem to have extremely short seat belts. The belt in my old P80 V70 base was longer and comfortable. As the seats are at full back position I thought that may help but no. I don't have an issue in our son's Xc70, a C30 I recently worked on or our Toyota 4Runner. They are all fine.

I guess I'll just have to start a diet again in the New Year!
