Front Passenger Door Window Switch Question
The passenger door handle of my 04 P2 broke right off so I ordered a replacement from Erie Volvo. I'm wondering if I have to swap the window switch since its just the passenger side and not the master window switch on the driver's side. And if so, how do you remove the passenger switch? Its different set up from the driver's side which you just push out. Thanks in advance.

I think the handle will be separate from the window switch. I do not remember doing anything to my 2001 V70 handle when I tried to replace my window switch. The window switch seems to be electronically mated to the drive side and a used replacement did not work for me.Or maybe I got a used base model switch and it did not work for my T5.

There is a screw underneath the switch for removing/installing a new handle. There are 6 plastic tabs and a T25 screw (already removed in your picture) holding the module to the door panel. I use a small and long screwdriver to release the three plastic tabs between the module and the door panel first, then release the three that are on the outside of the module.

Thank you for the responses. After studying the assembly I figured out how to remove the switch. Carefully pry the 3 tabs and ease the switch out. Sneaked a thin table knife to push the other 3 tabs on the other side of the switch.
And yes, the switches have to be swapped. The 07 switch will not work on the 04. I probably could have just replaced the handle but the plastic on driver's side latch broke a few months ago so I decided to get the whole assembly for the passenger side in case the same thing happens. I could tell the plastics on the 07 where sturdier than the 04.

I think I documented that there seems to be 3 variants of the driver's DDM. 01-03, 04, 05-
I have now learned from this the passenger side window controller may be linked/programmed to the master DDM. I honestly think it is more likely the year version may be the critical issue more than it is programmed to the DDM.
Neil.
