I have 2015 V60 Cross Country and have a ABS failure warning

I’ve just put over $5000 worth of repairs into the car, including brake work and a lot of other things. I’m not eager to put a bunch more money into the vehicle at this point. The brakes do seem to be working OK even with the warning and I’m just wondering if continued driving is a danger. I understand the ABS may not be working, but does that actually affect the overall breaking safety of the car under normal driving conditions?

It will affect emergency braking where the brakes would normally lock up due to your pressure on the brake pedal... the .1 to .01% of braking we do.

You should read the codes with a OBD-II code reader. It'll likely break down the problem into a specific part, and we can offer more help with that information. It could be the ABS module, it could be a wheel sensor, etc.

Sorry to interrupt your question, but do you know if this is typical of mid-teens V60’s? I was actually just browsing 2 hours ago for low mileage examples.

Hi Bart, I have no idea of how typical this is on the mid-teen V60's. Haven't done a study, just coping with my own problem at this point.

Definitely pull the codes, I believe iCarSoft Volvo readers on Amazon would cover your year/model. Could just be a wheel speed sensor.
