Re: Air Bag Removal
Well you gotta get the torx screws out before you try to release the airbag retainers.

Here's what I just found on Volvo forums. I have been searching for days. When I added the word "Vida" to the search this thread came up. Exact same issue I am having.!!
So it is the Torx on the back of the steering wheel holding it on, nothing else. They are T30 machine screws. The bolts are VERY tight. A socket and ratchet would have been easier but my bit was too short so I had to use a screwdriver style one with a Vice Grip on it. Had to push really hard to make sure it was seated and not crooked so I didn't strip out the head.
@Blacklab467 you pretty much figured it out. You also triggered my brain to add "VIDA" to the search which is how I found the full and final solution. I searched for hours without ever turning up the thread below. I hope you have an amazing and joyful holiday! Yiu certainly made mine happier. I was really close to giving up totally.

Here is the airbag off and the machine screws from the front side.

Excellent! Maybe post a thread on the forum with pictures of how to do it. I learned something too, didn't know there was a different type of retainer used for the airbag in '07.
