Coming from P80 (1998 S70, 19980 V70) and P2 (2005 XC90, 2006 S60, 2007 S60)...
But these cars are getting old, so the natural question is:
What is your next (reliable) Volvo?
I am looking at P3 generation. Specifically what year, model is reliable?
Any advices will be appreciated.
What is your next Volvo?

Daily I didn’t go Volvo.
Heard good things about the p3 na 6 cylinder engines, turned off by the routing of alternator, power steering, and maintenance items. I know that it is probably a case of it isn’t as bad as it seems, but I’ve changed alternators and power steering pumps on a few vehicles and that one looked a bit more awkward.
That being said, I like the look of the xc70 p3.
My mechanic swears by the xc90’s p3 platform so I guess that’s a good option. Was gonna replace my v70 with one until I found the s60.
They are nice SUV’s, but it’s a different feeling from the sedan based models.
I think taking a close look at the engine is important as I know a few had piston ring issues and some did not.

I'm going for a 2047 V700XC Hovercraft edition, with the sought after Star Trek "Beam Me Up" transducer option. It will have really nice wheels (but they're only for show).
...Semi-serious answer: If you have the means, I think the newer V60 wagons are nice. I think they're all going to be supercharged / turbocharged 2-liters, which makes me think there has to be some real heat to be dissipated for 300hp. Maybe hybrids as well.

my 2001 is 25 years young and drives like it just rolled off the assembly line. A few funny noises/clunks but next car anything in stick shift maybe even a Skoda if no volvos available.

Well, I want my ‘04 to be like that. It does start right up in any weather, I replace some odd thing now and then, I changed the subframe bushings / struts / sway bars / end links. But it has some plastic clunks, my second Xmodex (?) instrument cluster has failed, and the paint looks like crap. I think it lived it’s early life out in the sun.

Yea the p3 xc70.
The 90 I think continued until 14 or 15 in its late 2000’s era implementation. My mechanic told me they have less of a tendency to develop issues like bad rings for example.

P3 is Ford EUCD-based. If you're mentally ready for Ford. Turned out, I was not ready.
Volvo missed the mark with P3 for us. If I ever buy one more Volvo, it would be no later than P2.
