The car is a 1998 V70 I with the B5254FS engine. The original spring code is 32 and the springs were marked green.
The new shocks are TRW JGM278T, the springs are KYB RA3789, the upper strut mounts are SKF VKDC 35634.
The lower control arms are TRW JTC916/JTC917.

I double checked all the part numbers in VIDA and they match

PXL_20260117_154325741.jpg

As you can see, they are bowed "outwards", but the spring sits all the way in the indentations. The spring should be the right way around, the smaller winding is towards the shock and the bigger winding towards the upper spring seat. That is the way the old springs were installed and IMO the only way they fit. What's odd is that the writing on the springs is upside down this way, but that's not the first time I've seen that.

PXL_20260117_153112839.jpg

The consequence is that I can't get the upper bolt of the wheel knuckle in before the spring hits the body.

I didn't want to open a thread for this singular issue, but did anyone ever experience something like that?
C70 front springs should fit on a v70 right?
Your kyb springs shows up as c70 springs.

According the specifications there’s some difference in height and outer diameter between the kyb spring you have now and the kyb spring that shows up online for a v70.

Neil.
That’s a great idea!

Not sure if the old set is worth it to fix it up.
It’ll need to be stripped, turned, coated and trued.

Just put the new set on. Here and there some paint chips and curb rash, but it’s not oxidised as the old wheels.
For the budget they’ll do more than fine.

Compared to me at his age, he's... uninspired. Halfway between a teen who chooses not to drive, and where I was at his age. His friend does have full driving privileges and they all (5 or so) go out every Friday after school and bop around, and for some reason that makes me so proud and happy. At 17-18, I practically lived on the road, only locally. Me and my friends wouldn't be caught dead at home on weekends, and half the weekdays. Even if it meant we stood around played Ivan 'Ironman' Stewart's Super Off Road at the 7-Eleven. It certainly wasn't one of my all time favorite standup arcade games, but it beat being at home.

I spent far more time playing Taxi pinball at Fair Lanes bowling alley, which was the most fun pinball game I played. Just fantastic. I got really good at it. I don't remember bowling even once. We'd just roll in there and play arcade games for an hour. I'm not a pinball historian but I'd be surprised if Taxi isn't considered a classic.

I would swipe one of the cars - or mine once I got it running! - and head up Hampden / 285 / Turkey Creek Canyon, or say Morrison / Bear Creek Canyon and just drive and drive. Pretty empty then, not too many houses up there.

Now this is where things get's odd. Searching for the part number that VIDA gives me, I get the RA3789.

However searching for my car in the KYB katalogue, a different spring is listed:

And the RH1165 does not have any part numbers attached:

One way or another, I bought two Eibach R10753 springs yesterday. :D

After church I filled up with gas and topped off the wiper fluid. The light has been flashing every time I take off for a few days now. I just haven't done anything about it until now because of the cold.

Also, I'm tired of seeing this bolt missing. Anybody know the size or part number?

Try swiping one of the 10mm head bolts from the top of the fender, hood up, and see if it fits. I can send you a spare in Nautic blue. Those bolts also fit the air guide hold tabs down under the engine

I forgot to take a picture of the alignment specs
At least I saw some planes to make up for it.

Edit: the plane isn’t even in focus
