Problem solved today. Turns out the TRQ CV shafts I installed are not tapped as deep as the originals. So when I torqued the shaft bolts at the wheel hub they were bottoming out, allowing the shaft to slide back about 1 cm — just far enough the sensor was not picking up the tone wheel. Ugh. I had checked bolt torque but never gave the shaft a pull for any slack…
Interesting the CV shafts were put in 5000 miles ago and this just cropped up. They do not come with bolts so I reused the old ones. Shorter 10.9 flanged bolts from my farm supply store 2 miles away and it is sorted.
I also identified my liftgate root cause. Cable that attaches to the latch mechanism was broke so $85 eBay replacement on order.
A spare key is most painful…covered here on the forum ad nauseam…$440 for a fob or $113 for a valet key PLUS $224 to program either one. With an AirTag on the only functional key I may roll the dice. Just can’t swallow $337 for a spare key on a $1500 vehicle.
