Been having recurring P0101 issues. Used my smoke leak detector and it appears that their is a leak where the PTC connects to the air intake pipe. Looks like the PTC connects there with some sort of snap together rubber grommet. Seems a bit loose at the connection, can wiggle it a little, probably the grommet/connection is just a bit deteriorated.
Anyone else have this problem? Easiest way to fix? Taking the air intake hose off of the turbo inlet seems tough to reach and concerned about being able to get it all back together. Maybe I could try smearing some RTV sealant around it in place, no removal?

I've had my inlet pipe off several times, its not that difficult, long screwdriver or extension and small socket.
Its more common for vacuum tubing under the intake manifold to split and leak,
you can't tell looking, get your hands on them, mine had a 6 inch split.

Can replace the grommet https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo- ... vo-3507985 It is RPIA (royal pain in neck), with high chances your entire hose will break. I replaced that grommet, only to find short time later the plastic around turbo's inlet broke off. Go ahead and get a brand new hose: https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo- ... o-30680446

Your failing air-intake will cause serious driving condition; no steering and worse if engine shuts off.
You want to remove pipes and hoses from MAF to turbo. Fix the problem before next drive.
Remove engine brace and mount to access the pipe at turbo.

Still think I might try some RTV sealant around the PTC connection ($5 and no pipe removal). It's a fairly minor leak.
Is it odd that my inlet pipe does not have a vacuum line port where the yellow arrow is pointing? Looks like the intake pipe (#30792627) has a factory plug there instead.

I suggest window caulk sealer instead of RTV. RTV has acetic acid which might corrode some parts.
I like Dap 18300 DYNAFLEX 230. It also works as an adhesive.

Get the snorkel off and fix it right. If stuff gets sucked into the turbo ftom there that will end ugly. You can buy the grommet as a part , check Volvo online store for that part number
