Hi there,
Been having a lot of sudden stallouts, even though I've put in a:
-New Fuel Pump
-New Fuel Pump Relay
-Cleaned Throttle Body
-Cleaned Connectors
Now, I've replaced the MAF. Still getting TROUBLE CODES 121 & 113
Check Engine light still on. Stalling still happening stopped or on freeway. Sudden cutout, wait a few minutes, might be good for 10 miles or x hours or days.
Can anyone help me out?
'94 850-Replaced MAF & STILL get Codes 121 & 113 - S
And can anyone explain why I'd still get these codes despite replacing the MAF Sensor? 121 is the code for "MAF Sensor". Not sure what 113 is. If you know I'd appreciate any helpful info on what could cause these two codes to persist despite all I listed.
Thanks in advance!
Thanks in advance!

MadeInJapan,
I got '121' and '113' when plugged into A2.
The reason I'm confused is there's no Trouble Code 113 for slot A2 in the list you gave.
Thanks for your reply.

had the same problem with my 93 850 n/a. make sure your getting a good connection on your maf by plugging in and out about 20 times.also clear your codes and try again. code 113 is for fuel trim to lean, probably set by the bad maf. did you get a new maf? i tried a used one that did'nt work but a new one worked like a charm. i found on my car that the cold/hot air flapper in the air box was stuck on hot air 100% of the time ,most likely taking out my maf. might want to check that out. also i think an o2 sensor can trigger a maf code. good luck. this site really helped me and saved a big expense.
Where is the hot/cold 'flapper' you're talking about?mdpete3 wrote:had the same problem with my 93 850 n/a. make sure your getting a good connection on your maf by plugging in and out about 20 times.also clear your codes and try again. code 113 is for fuel trim to lean, probably set by the bad maf. did you get a new maf? i tried a used one that did'nt work but a new one worked like a charm. i found on my car that the cold/hot air flapper in the air box was stuck on hot air 100% of the time ,most likely taking out my maf. might want to check that out. also i think an o2 sensor can trigger a maf code. good luck. this site really helped me and saved a big expense.
I just put a brand new Bosch MAF on there last week. Still getting the codes. I've cleaned the harness that plugs into it as best I can (not a lot of room between 4 female contacts on the harness).
Thanks for your reply

Did you unplug your battery (better have your radio code to do this) for 20 minutes or so? That will reset the adaptives and help your ECU learn how the new MAF sensor is with your car.

Next, I'm ordering yet another Fuel Pump Relay.
I'm also ordering a Fuel Pump Switch.

if you take your air filter out and look down in the right corner you will see where the hot air comes into the air box from the flex pipe from the exhaust manifold. in there is a two sided flap that is supposed close off the hot exhaust air when it's cold out and bring in the cold outside air after the engine warms up. there is a wax termostat that is supposed to push a pin out to push the door to the cold side,if that don't work right your stuck on hot air all the time which is'nt good,so you either have to get a new thermostat or do what i did is to take the thermostat out put something behind the springs to block the door to the cold side. it's a common problem with 850's. if you search this forum for air box modification youwill find a step by step fix. this at least will keep you from damagingyour new maf. as far as your new maf still triggering the codes double check the part number to make sure it was the right one. sounds to me it's still the maf.
