Dude thats CDM. So its CAN Bus. You have 1999.

If this is the case then previous owner must have swapped the cluster in from a 99, how does one tell the difference between 98 and 99 cluster? This car is certainly a 98, it has no key chip immobilizer and the vin is 98 also.

MCU and other things on board. Maybe its Frankenstein aka swapped then.

Outside only by P/N i would say quickly as they so similar honestly.

These are part numbers on cluster, it's possible previous owner tried to swap broken cluster with this one maybe?

In middle plastic at the bottom has a label

All the chip dates support a 1998 build ? Isn’t 1998 v70 early CANBYS?

The cluster says late 1998 on the cluster green plug while the car was built in late 97 according to door plate, I'm guessing this was swapped in by last owner

I've gone ahead and purchased a proper 98 cluster, hopefully will solve the woes lol. The cluster being the wrong one makes me wonder what the real mileage is on this car lol
