Then the other option is to center the unit and have the alignment shop adjust the outer tie-rods to set the wheel straight the the centered steering wheel.

If the centering/alignment of the steering column and the clockspring are way off, you may have to center the rack, lock it and then separate the rack from the column and refit with the clockspring centered.

Hope that makes sense.

I actually bought a used clockspring off ebay that guaranteed to work and I tried to center it and still same message. Using icarsoft to reset it would not reset the Steering angle. Kept saying failed. Two of the other 3 sensors it did reset but still same message. I am buying a new steering angle sensor that has the retaining screw in it in the right spot so hopefully that will do the trick. Thanks again for all the insight.

I wish you luck on this. If you did not have an issue when you started then it is something that has been disturbed while working on it unfortunately. You did run the steering while running from lock to lock to calibrate it?

Do you actually get an OBD2 code for this issue or just that message?

All fixed. I was off by a single rotation. My icarsoft device gave me live steering data and I learned that I had to reset the dstc in the Anti Lock brake function as opposed to Steering Angle Sensor function. When I went to ABS function on my scanner I reset the steering angle faults there and everything zeroed out. I then went to the live data and saw the angle at zero. As soon as I turned the wheel slightly the number changed to 361° which showed me I was still off by one rotation. Turning the wheel to the right the number went down so I pulled the steering wheel off and did one full turn on thw sensor to the right. I reattached everything and took it on a ride. Everything is perfect now. Thanks again
