Hello,
V70 P2 140k - Sensors are failing regularly. And I’d like to start replacing them before they go.

Is there a thorough, detailed maintenance schedule for the P2? One that addresses sensors, and other small critical stuff?
Thanks!

At that age and mileage I’d simply replace every fluid (brake, transmission, power steering, coolant, etc). Worth considering changing all the coolant hoses depending on condition of them. Timing belt every 10yrs/100k. Water pump, cam seals and idlers/tensioner at 200k. Change oil at 5k miles max to keep PCV system healthy. Suspension is a preference thing.

Krons, solid advice, but failing sensors are the problem. Many are inexpensive and easy to replace. So I’d imagined a schedule that lists the sensors, and their typical lifespan. So I can replace before they fail. Ty.

Cam, Crank, O2, Ignition Coils are main ones that come to mind.

I shouldn't ever say anything like this but I've never had a Cam sensor go bad on any of my Volvos.

Multi-Volvo part failures past 100,000 miles that aren't in the Volvo maintenance schedule:
Knock sensors (2x on both 2001 non-turbo V70s at a little over 200,000 miles)
VVT solenoids (2x on 2001 and 2007, the solenoid bore wears and starts to stick)
Idler pulleys (all the cars when replacing timing belts because if this part fails the serpentine belt can go into the timing belt and cause it to jump)
AC compressor clutch bearings (4x because they stop being smooth similar to the idler pulleys and alternator bearings after 225,000 miles. Just the bearing can be replaced but it is a difficult job.)
Thermostats (5x at 200,000 miles maximum, the wax pellet leaks and they stop working to open fully)
Coolant expansion tanks (5x when you see white cracks near the ports they are getting close to leaking)
Radiators (5x after 150,000 miles, these are relatively quick to change after you have done it a couple times. They leak at the ports or the aluminum crimp holding the plastic end tanks on.)
HVAC blower fan (6x bearings wear out and squeak starting around 200,000 miles)
Wheel bearings (3x after 175,000 miles - They get loud and make plenty of rumbling sound)
Fuel Injectors Ultasonic Cleaning around 200,000 miles - flow was unbalanced. https://cleaninginjector.com/
Side view mirrors come loose from the mounting glue on 2007 P2 vehicles for some weird reason. Catch the glass before it fully detaches and re-attach with 3M heavy duty mounting tape.
Turbocharger bearings and seals replacement around 200,000 miles. At this mileage the bearing have excessive play.
Lubricate the ignition lock to keep it from wearing out. (2x failed without lube)
Replace the PCV check valve banjo bolt with the new style before 200,000 miles so it doesn't disassemble and destroy the engine. (only 1 time but every turbo P2 Volvo needs this fix)
Tire Pressure Monitor Sensors go bad after about 12 years. (12x)
Struts and shocks last about 150,000 miles before they are completely shot. 90,000 miles to mostly shot.
Spark plug coils last a very long time if the spark plugs are replaced on time and their gaps are checked every 20-30,000 miles. Bigger than specified gaps increase the energy demand on the coils. Replace at 200,000 miles if you don't want the risk and put a couple of the old ones in a bag in the trunk.
Clean the mass airflow sensor with specific MAF cleaning spray when you do the timing belt.

I will add more when I have time to review more of the maintenance records...
