PCV Hose P/N 1271771 for n/a 850

Post by harrisag »

Hello,

I'm preparing to do my first pcv service as the weather warms up. I have a 1997 850 n/a. I am trying to put together mostly oem parts as there is no good kit available for n/a 850s. Anyway, so far so good except for the hose which connects from the engine block to the oil trap directly. P/N 1271771 for my car. Volvo no longer makes that part and I can't find any available online. The only option is a URO made hose and as this community recommends avoiding URO hoses like the plague, I thought I'd see if anyone has any alternatives?

There is the same hose still available for the turbo engines: P/N 1271653. Does anyone know if that will fit my n/a 850?

Also, does anyone have a definitive answer on using the volvo hose vs a heater hose for the line which runs from the oil box to the intake? I'm seeing varying opinions about whether it's a good idea. I'd love to save money and just buy a heater hose but I don't want to constantly check for kinks or bends that trap oil.

Thanks for any help!

It would be good to know the answer. However, someone on eBay seems to have the Volvo OE 1271771:

I've never dealt with that seller and can't vouch for him.

I must have missed that! It looks like a Volvo hose to me... I'll give it a shot. Thanks!
