The most intimidating part of the entire trailer build will be the welding. Never done it before and just now today I bought the proper welding sticks. I also got some extra cash so I might also buy a decent camera or a smartphone so I can record everything properly. Believe it or not, I only have a flip phone no matter how high-end it is. It's the Sonim XP3900 (xp3+) non-5g with mobile hotspot. Tomorrow morning, I will have another update for you. Maybe late next week I will begin practice welding. However, I think it'll be sometime between Monday and Wednesday when I have a vehicle update for you guys in the Volvo car chat forum.

There was a typo in my original post. It should have read 'seam sealer'.
NAPA stores have several types available in calking gun tubes. Rather expensive at $ 25 a tube and up. Very thick and sticky stuff.

Brakes are an interesting beast. I’m wondering can you still use the main rear system by plugging the two front lines and using some sort of actuator linked to the electronic trailer braking module. Did you look into surge based or the ones that need like a 7 pin terminal.

I’ve got a wrecked v70 that I’ve pondered doing this too. Can bump out the door enough and the rear still tracks straight if I recall correctly.

Part 1: That's an interesting idea. I might look into that.
Part 2: Are you referring to a '7 way' or '5 way' trailer wired plug/socket? Those do have the braking wire capable. I already have a four-way and five-way. If I find a way to hook up the brakes then yes, I will use a five-way.

Two more suggestions for your welding and sealing work:
Use an small, stiff brush to spread and smooth the sealer. An acid brush commonly used for soldering works well.
Use a good smoke/dust mask to keep the welding smoke out of your lungs. A wind or fan at your back helps. If you have trouble holding the tip of the welding rod steady, use half a rod and use a heavy glove on your off side hand to help strady the welding rod.
Wear heavy full coverage shirt, pants and shoes. Weld splatter will burn you! Even the arc flash can give you sun burn.
Use all the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) you can get.
