First ...A thanks to Abscate! In another thread Abscate indicated that CARDONE rebuilt Calipers are Volvo. I can confirm that. I bought CARDONE rebuilts and they are indeed Volvo calipers.

Now here is where i need help (sort of): Does anyone have a trick to installing the springs on the outside of the caliper. I swear i fight those things everytime i put pads on the front. I can swap the pad, rotors etc, but I swear I spend more time trying to get that spring set up correctly.

any tips or a way to get that done would be super helpful!!

Nope, I have done these many times and they either pop right in or they fight you every step. I generally fit it on the bottom first and then wrestle it at the top. I use a pair of adjustable pliers to old the top pin and force it into the top hole. Tap it into the hole with a small hammer.

Just make sure the holes for the pins are not clogged with paint or dirt first.

No magic!

Ok - funny side note..

last night I spent, I am guessing about 15 to 20 minutes trying to get the spring clip on only to have it pop off again and again...so I gave up, went inside and decided to tackle it in the morning. I went out about 10 minutes ago. and on the 2nd try, it snapped right into place.

time for more coffee and a good chuckle at my expense...

I use a flathead screw driver to pry the clip up and slide it down the shaft of the screw driver and into place. It takes a little bit of finagling to get the driver in the right position but it seems to work well for me.

I clip on a needle nose vice grip so they don’t fly away. I got a nose hit once , which is memorable
