Coolant Change-out - 2002 V70

Hi Guys-
Was thinking of draining and re-filling the coolant in my older V70 since I have never done it as long as I have owned it.
I have 223k miles on her and I have owned it since 2017. I just looked in my owner's manual for the type and capacity,
and it does not list either.
I have been re-filling it on occasion with "Zerex G-05" phosphate free coolant, but when I went to an Auto Zone today all
they sold was stuff that was colored blue. The G-05 was basically clear in color. Is the blue stuff newer?
Also, can anyone tell me the full capacity of coolant? Thanks!

Shop around. The Zerex G-05 is still available. It is what I use in modern Volvos and Mercedes.

Just did this with the blue stuff from Advance. I forget the brand but it was for "european" cars...volvo, bmv, etc.
I drained it out the bottom of the radiator. Probably put about 6-7 qts back in.

I would focus "re filling" part of your post first. Do you mean that your car is loosing coolant and you have to periodically add new antifreeze? If yes, than i would focus on finding the cause of such issue first(if it is headgasket, what the point to change antifreeze? ). However there might be multiple other areas where car might loose coolant. Zerex is a good brand, but volvo oem stuff is not expensive either. Add 1 gal of distilled water($2) and you are done.

- I drain via lower rad hose.
- Have been using Prestone Green coolant for my BMWs and Volvos for 35 years, zero issues.

9-10 qts if you also open the engine block drain, its near the oil cooler.
