It's been awhile since I've had one of those off, but from what I remember they are short; maybe 1/2" - 1.5 cm.
You could take that one that you see off, and match it at the local hardware store, but I'd inclined to just hit the local yard and grab that bolt, as well as a few other odds and ends.

Thanks for the warm welcome! Thankfully that junked P2 was untouched, so a quick 20-min disassembly and I got the bolt I needed… back home got the CBV to seal by hand-setting the top 2 bolts, and the 3rd one underneath had to be painfully hand threaded to start.

(notable: Once the bottom bolt was started, a small 10mm 12pt closed wrench was the key. Guide with left hand and then a single rotation at a time… can be done w turbo installed, patience is needed on overdrive)

Did have to remove basically all hoses in the area, lesson learned I am foolish for adding a CVB refresh to my heater hose/firewall replacement project.

Don’t know how often these get lost, but tell ya that starting the 100F+ weather with this was not ideal!!!

The path to follow here is…

Use Volvo parts online website to pull up the turbo diagram and get the Volvo part number

Use Skandix.de who puts dimensions of Volvo part number hardware into the description, like m6x30mm

Having put these things back in under hood, I appreciate why you don’t want to remove one to match. That’s an ugly job of no space tooling.

Didn’t know about Skandix, I’m checking it out ASAP! Worst case scenario, I was getting ready to get the bolts reproduced and have an emergency supply batch lol!

Didn’t even think of using a foam pad… I sat my bottom in the battery tray and then leaned onto the engine to have hands free… just used a license plate as some armor against the head/fuel rail cover… this same thing worked for me when tackling the firewall/heater core stuff under the dash. Lucky for me I’m nowhere near the smartest in this room!!

Not to my Volvo thankfully, but on the way home from checking out some auction cars, I saw a Volvo on the side of the road... on fire. Hood up, engine bay fully engulfed, and at least some emergency crew onsite. It was a wagon, I think a P2, maybe a P3. It was hard to pick up the details as I was speeding by on the other side of the median.

everyone, “guarantees it’s coming,” but I’ve been lucky so far, knock on wood…maybe a lucky quirk of the first year models as I really don’t want to remove the cluster…

I’d love to remove the whole dash and fix it but again, after seeing all the documentation on doing such a project, I’ve no desire to remove it either and so I live with the shaking and rattling, as incredibly annoying as it is
