Just never reset the trip meter while the car is moving vastly reduces the chances of odometer failure!

I like Makita. I have several Makita construction tools - big skilsaws and such. Plus Milwaukee drills, driver, jigsaw, sawzall.
A second cheap set of car tools is clever. My old stuff is mixed with new randomly in the drawers.

Was sunny yesterday, decided to take the head off
Didnt do all that work for nothing
Gasket is absolutely ruined everywhere it touched coolant and fell apart when I took the head off. I'm guessing there was a coolant/gasket incompatibility, since this was one was installed in 2022 and only covered ~40 000km. Same coolant I ran for 50k in the previous engine, and in other volvos without issues.

I got the Falcon running today, in anticipation of her move to a better home than I can provide now.
Hadn't been started since the beginning of last year, so checked for the inevitable nest in the filter box etc etc etc before actually turning the engine over.
She sounds great. '99 V70R, mfd '98, so technically a 28 y/o car..?
They really, really don't make anything like her anymore.

However… now getting leak @ heater core coupling assembly. Where the aluminum hoses (and new o-rings) slip into the heater core assembly and get torqued in via a T25 six point screw. (See here)
This screw is getting beat to ####, and I’ve ordered 2 replacements just in anticipation of my monkey brain decimating the currently installed one. I tried getting as much torque down into that little nook, but alas the leak isn’t stopping.
Anyone with some experience/anectdotes to share? If the replacement T25s don’t work, I may scrap the hose replacement work and just bypass the core for now. This is a recent look of the firewall/hoses/core connection when I was test-fitting.
