2006 V70R AWD Automatic Topic is solved

Desperate for help... I have an 06' V70R With less than 100k. Bought it from original owner that did a 3rd stage IPD tune on it. Bigger brakes, turbo, turbo hoses, suspension blah blah bla... Volvo dealer says my Front passenger side axle part number is 8252057 according to my VIN. However they are on "backorder". So I go aftermarket, and 3 axles later still not having what I need... So here's the deal. For my car The end of the shaft splines (that connect to Transaxle) diameter is 1.13 inches. These axles I am buying are 1.05 inches. The shaft is also tapered, meaning it's not just one uniform diameter the whole way down from the bearing by the cv-joint. Looks basically like attached picture.

Have you tried to speak with FCP euro? Another idea is to ask Colorado Droveshaft if they will be able to repair your original ones.

In my case it's not possible to repair. I did speak to IPD parts specialist and he told me same thing as dealership for part number.

Worst possible case scenario or to find skilled machine shop to cut the splines piece of the original and weld it to the new shaft. Will require balancing after. Hopefully Colorado Driveshaft will be able to suggest something. They fixed my propeller shaft 2 times and each time I got 100k

Have you tried someone like Erie Vo-Vo in NYC area, there is another Volvo/Saab/other specialist outside Sacramento parting Volvos and other cars, and then in Canada there is Chapman Motors on Vancouver Island (Cobble Hill location) who also part out cars.

I understand S60R's use the same axle.

**Update** The Transaxle Part # is 30700027. Can anyone determine the correct CV axle to fit that Transaxle? Front-Passenger side...

The angle gear is the same as an XC90. However, the angle gear does not determine the axle other than it has a machined section that FWD cars don't need. The axle passes right through the angle gear and into the transmission. The splines are in the transmission.

As Usual Abscate is spot on with The Eerie VO-VO recommendation.

All I gotta say is that Volvo Dealership Parts guys couldn't find out what I needed in 4 days, while the Guy at Eerie took 4 minutes and got it solved!!
