P2 seatbelt differences in length?? - V70/XC70

I've had this issue before being on the large size. Our 00 V70R has the same issue, the seat belt when I have to drive the car can only be worn if I lean the seat backrest back slightly, but it is nearly impossible to read the switches on the dashboard. I had an 00 V70 base, and other than a great bit of extra headroom not having a sunroof, the seat belt was longer or something was different as I had no issue with it in terms of being tight or preventing reaching the dashboard. Seat did not need to be tilted back at all.

What I did find, although cannot prove the V70 base had it, was the P80 did have an optional longer seatbelt to the standard one. Is that what had been fitted to the 00 V70 base?

Now going forward a generation of Volvos to our 2 x 06 P2 wagons. One is an 06 XC70, and the other is an 06 V70 AWD.

One physical difference is the front seats. The XC70 seats are almost flat (and uncomfortable) and the V70 has the 'sports' seats which are more of a 'bucket' seat which are way more comfortable giving thigh support taking the load off the tailbone.

Now I had expected the seatbelts to be the same, but the V70 belt is extremely tight, again preventing dashboard reach. Trying the XC70 again and no issues at all. That is strange as I expected the V70 seats which have you sitting lower (or it feels that way), would be the reverse and have the 'longer' belt.

My wife wonders why I don't drive it and I told her why. To drive it I will need a seatbelt extender. Volvo don't sell one so will go to an on-line specialist to order one.

Unrelated, my wife also complains the V70 AWD has a much poorer turning circle compared to the XC70?? Not sure why that would be?

I don't know what they shipped with, but today Volvo has one set of seatbelts for early S60/V70/XC70 (2001-2004) and another for the late (2005+) models.
