Hello everyone!
Need help from Volvo professionals.
My car is a 2008 S80 V8. I have a problem: constant errors after starting the engine.
P0352, P0354, P0356, P0358 - misfires on bank 2.
In reality, misfires don't always occur; the engine may run smoothly,
but the errors listed above are always present.
I moved all four ignition coils to bank 1. The errors are still present. The spark plugs are new.
I checked the ground on the coils - everything is OK.
I decided to check the wiring and found some inconsistencies in the factory documentation.
- 1) Inconsistency between the electrical diagram in VIDA and the actual wiring on the car.
The electrical diagram shows that the ignition coil diagnostic line is divided into two groups.
The first group is cylinders 1-3-5-8, the second group: cylinders 2-4-6-7.
The colors of the first group are yellow-green, while the second group (except for cylinder 2) are purple-white.

BUT, in fact, in the wiring on the car, on side 2, the diagnostic wires from coils 2 and 8 are connected together.

But it shouldn't connect to cylinder 8,
but to cylinders 2, 4, 6, and 7.

Documentation error???

- 2) Further in the description of the ECU pin assignments and in the description of error codes
P0352-58, I found completely different information -
ECU pin 62 is the diagnostic line for coils 1-4-6-7 (not 1-3-5-8!!!)
and pin 64 is the diagnostic line for coils 2-3-5-8 (!!!)

Based on the electrical diagram, the wiring in the car is incorrect.
And if we take this fact as a starting point (the diagnostic wires for cylinder coils 2 and 8 are connected together),
then it turns out that the diagnostic lines for the coil groups don't match the wiring diagram and description.
Where's the truth?

- 3) Help me understand errors P0352, P0354, P0356, and P0358—what else can I check?

Why is there a constant error on side 2? What do these cylinders have in common?

4) When checking the cylinder pressure sensor
and the signal from the coil and injector for this cylinder with an engine tester,
I discovered that injection occurs on the exhaust stroke!
Is this a specific feature of this engine?

Thanks to everyone who responded!

Disregard wiring diagram at this time. If you know this car and it was working well for you for some time, who cares what volvo draw in their diagram(mistakes happen). If you are sure about timming of the ignition corresponding with exhaust stroke..i would check if your timming marks are correct. V8 has 3 chains. I believe it is 1 big to the crankshaft and 1 small between cam-cam on each bank. Those can stretch, be out of tension. Still i find it hard to believe that engine with multiple misfire(as per code) and ignition set for exhaust stroke(!!!!)can work normal. It is possible that this car has 2 knock sensors. Try to see if you can switch them between banks. With your motor tester, verify your findings on the other bank. For example #1 vs #2
