I did do that actually , a real manual gauge inside the car. Initial cold start is 44 psi drive about 5 miles it slowly drops to around 24 psi at low RPM . then all of a sudden drops to basically zero. Pull over shut it off for 5 minutes and I'm back at 24 psi drive a few miles then drop to zero.ADent wrote: 06 Apr 2026, 02:05 You should hook up a oil pressure sensor with gauge. The dash light comes on about 5-8 psi. If it really is that low at speed there is major problem. Sensor/gauge could help you tell if its the wiring or a real problem.
So I drove it over to the guys house stopping when it lost pressure , it is about 7 or 8 miles , parked it and did see some bubbles on the stick.
So he ordered a bunch of stuff and I guess we will drop the pan and see if it is the O-ring issue. Is it that the rings leak when the oil gets hot , or the oil is getting frothy ? I watched a youtube video , doesn't look awful , I have one of those cross hoists if we want to lift the engine in the chassis , probably block the front wheels up a foot or so .
he is going to order the oil cooler seals also and maybe a few other things and let me know when it comes in, and he is holding my volvo hostage in the meantime
