You can also buy repair mesh in metal and plastic versions. I just used some metal mesh strips when repairing a P1 undertray which had a long crack in it to bridge the crack. In my case I used a plastic welder to melt it into the original plastic and then used some plastic rod and finally a skim of JB Weld plastic glue. Not pretty, but seems really strong.
