Fuse is ok, haven’t checked voltage at fuse yet
Follow up, used the p2 to tow a p80 upstate with LPT850 . On the trip the rear wiper worked but wouldn’t park. Thst kind of points to problems inside the rear wiper motor points. It stopped working again.

I talked lpt850 ear off ( ima chatty Katy) but he was a good sport about it. Forgot to practice my Deutsch!

He mentioned test the p2 rear lights are tough to replace, and low and behold ten minutes later the Check stop lamp light appeared

Does it make me weird that I could spend a whole day wandering a junkyard?

I usually bring a lunch and I have been known to fall asleep in a car there on a warm day after eating it

when i lived in boston i loved to spend the day at hollands salvage, met a lot of brickheads there.
mens spa day.
south of boston , at robertsons in wareham , back in the day they used to grill burgers and dogs on saturday afternoons in the warmer months. but i think its been stopped 20 years now. I think they ran into some problems and it got ruined .

its still a great yard but i don't know if you are allowed out back anymore. they have a huge operation and i think you tell them what you want and they quote a price and it comes out on a conveyor belt
I bought a van from robertsons, back around 1982.
Hollands in Billerica is very good for volvos, you can wander around all day, they don't bother anyone.

Half of my fingers scars are attributed to the rear brake light bulbs in P2.

FWIW: Servicing aging Alternator's clutch pulley, and upgraded regulator with heat-sink can do wonders beyond bulbs. Like VTL's P2, I had a plug-in port for battery charging mounted on rear bumper. Never had electrical issues for next miles.

Good to know. I have only replace the bulbs on the 06 XC70 once with the exception of one brake like bulb since 2011. So so far not a bit deal. However, I end up pulling the rear panels and light clusters at the back and the front bumper and replace the bulbs all in one go.

Went to the auto wreckers today to find another trailer hitch and miscellaneous items, didn’t find anything useful except this ultra rare sunglass holder on an ‘06 XC 70 so I grabbed it and put it on my car. I’ve seen these in the accessories book and always wanted one but they’ve been NLA for a long time.

You did what? Got rid of "oh, sh-t!" handle? On an XC?

I got a really good holy shit handle on the console, and it's an '07 so its made of aluminum, not painted plastic to look like aluminum like the early models!
