Rear bumper removal - 06 V70 AWD

Well via a buddy who gave me a tip on a junkyard that had a P2 V70, I went to see them as they did not respond to my parts request (they pull the parts not you). Sure enough they had a car in the right color but the bumper was already gone. They had a 2nd with a blue bumper but it had damage. It did at least have the LH insert and chrome strip. They then said if I wanted the parts quickly they could loan me the tools and I could do it myself. 15 minutes later I had the insert off the blue car and fortunately the bracket mount for the LHS from the grey car. $126 all in. Not bad as although I did source all the parts on line, they would take weeks to get here and be over $300 for the 3 parts.

I will have to paint the insert, but I will hopefully do that next week when my desktop paint booth with extractor fan arrives. Shouldn't take long to paint all the parts I need to do (including the 2 mirror caps for the folding mirrors).

Oh. The mountings on the P2 V70 for 06 are:

1) 4 elongated (about 2" long) nuts on the inside of the car hidden behind foam pads (battery has to be removed).
2) 4 x T25 'pan' head screws, one either side tucked under the bumper edge, and one either side on the front lower edge (no rivets).
3) 4 x push pins like for the top of the front bumper. You push in the middle pin until it clicks and then pry them out to reuse once you reset the pins to protruding from the front of the pins.
4) pull out the front corner of the pumper slightly and pull the bumper backwards.
5) Almost forgot, there is an antenna in the bumper that needs to be disconnected prior to removing the bumper fully.

I'll add pictures when I pull our bumper to replace the LHS mount.

I ordered the 2 inserts from FCP as they seem to be able to get the parts that my Volvo Canada contacts don't seem to be able to find. I think they Canadian dealers can only view the nearest DC warehouse to them where FCP seem to be able to see all US warehouses.

Hopefully they are as good as their word and can get the parts in in around 4-5 days. In the meantime I will fix the LHR body mount for the rear bumper to get it help firmly in place.

I have been taking pictures as I have gone along. I will do a write up on this as I could not find any decent/correct video's or write ups for my car. There was one YouTube video but is missed some issues with the removal.
