1992 Volvo 940 GL Sedan – California Original Owner, Garaged, Zero Rust – $2,000 OBO
Up for sale is a very clean, one-owner 1992 Volvo 940 GL that I purchased new from Irvine Volvo in California. Always garaged, never driven in salt, and completely rust-free. It shows 201,000 miles, the vast majority of them on California highways. This is the desirable white-over-charcoal leather interior combo with a sunroof. It’s all original except for tasteful upgrades: IPD sway bars for better handling, high-quality legal tint, and an attachable roof rack. Everything functions as it should — heat, A/C blows cold, original radio and power antenna work, windows, locks, etc. Recent maintenance highlights:
• Timing belt, water pump, Nissen radiator, and related cooling components (~10k miles ago)
• Fairly new brakes and struts
• Always serviced with Mobil 1 oil and Mann/Volvo filters
• Full service records available
The car does not burn oil, runs and drives smoothly, is currently registered, and passes California smog with no issues. The only noted issues are the common erratic speedometer and temperature gauge (odometer, tach, and fuel gauge are all fine). These are straightforward and inexpensive to address on these cars — many owners fix them with a new sender or cluster solder refresh. These 940s are legendary for their safety, comfort, and durability. This one has been babied its whole life and still feels solid.
