2002 V70 parasitic

Hey everyone ! I have a problem and I’m looking for the solution. The subject is a 2002 V70 gasoline. After I turn the car off it continuously consumes 170mA from the battery. If i unplug the inner mirror’s UEM the problem goes away but then I don’t have remote control or ceiling lights. The reading lights and the back row’s ceiling lights haven’t been working for a while now and neither does the dimming in the mirror.

It is very possible that first you lost dimming mirror. If your mirror "leaked" the inner fluid and spread onto the board inside the mirror assembly, it likely corroded everything and causing your issue. In many cases, if the problem was discovered fast, one can send the mirror assembly to some handy electronic repair places who will replace the dimming glass element and clean the board(in my case ebay service for about $100, but it was 4 years ago). Some very inclined repair places possibly might be able to clone information from your mirror module to a used part. At least that would be my quick guess based on your symptoms. I woukd remove the mirror and look inside how the board and capacitors look and then search around if anyone is handy with cloning and such repairs. VAG is notorious for those issues, so assume there will be a service around you.

170mA is too high for normal quiescent draw, with the UEM being the culprit the dimming mirror fluid leak theory sounds about right — those auto-dimming mirrors are a known weak spot on this generation.
