Looks like I won't be needing to start a thread about the sunroof anymore! I accesses the sunroof switch validation and sunroof function validation program within VIDA to move the sunroof around using my laptop. After forcing the motors to go all the way back and all the way forward, suddenly the sunroof calibrated itself and began to park correctly in the closed position. I'm not sure exactly how this worked but I can't complain. I also got the wiper blades replaced today. The old ones were over 10 years old and badly dry rotted. Makes me wonder if this car might have been sitting a while before the previous owner got it.

New pro I discovered:

The fuel pump was replaced a couple years ago, granted it was with an aftermarket unit.

New con I discovered:

Windshield washer fluid pump does not work. Thankfully cheap aftermarket pumps are available, but might be a pain to replace.

Taking the car to a coworkers place tomorrow to put it up on his lift and inspect the underside and suspension. Planning on doing the wheel bearing this weekend.

After getting it on the lift:

Pros:

Both front control arms are just a few years old and in great condition.

CV axles are all in nice shape.

Car is, in fact, very clean for a Minnesota car.

Suspension in general is in good condition.

Driveshaft actually appears to be a brand new unit.

Borla resonator welded right after the cat, muffler deleted.

Cons:

Transmission, engine, and rear diff are leaky.

I'm gonna have to replace the other front wheel bearing too.

Something strange is happening with the rear O2 sensor. Both heater and sensor circuits are bad but the sensor is still there mounted to the middle of the cat. There is an alarming amount of tension on the cable. I need to look into this further.

Could use some fresh brake pads.

There is an issue with turbo boost control. Could be a hose problem (I hope).

A couple of brake lights don't work.

The job on the Cons list I hate the most is the brake light bulbs. But thankfully in this case it is not a wagon!

Like you said, the O2 sensor cable should not be tight. Either wrong one fitted or installed incorrectly which could have damaged the sensor.

Leaks just take time depending on where it is leaking of course! If everything is leaking I'd suspect a PCV service may be in your future. Axle seals and the seals for the angle gear are not uncommon. Just don't fancy the angle gear collar removal.

Maybe the O2 sensor is a universal, and wire length is short?

This is what I'm currently thinking. I wasn't able to get a good look at what brand the sensor is but the cable should absolutely not be taught like it is. I would put a picture up but unfortunately I forgot to take a picture. When I get the car back on the lift tomorrow to change the wheel bearing I'll snap a picture so you all can see what the cable routing looks like. It's not good, I can say that for sure.

: To the left of the exhaust against the heat shield you can see the black cable jacket of the rear O2 sensor. It has tension going to the engine harness connector by the turbo.

Overall, B+

Seriously the underside looks like many P80/P2 cars, oil leaks, not terrible but letting you know they are there. I'd suggest a PCV glove test is in the near future. Looking at where the leaks are the chances are they could be old, or the PCV needs love.

There is not a lot of oil at the trans, so not a panic there either.

All I can see is that you look like you are missing a chunk of the LHF brake dust shield, but otherwise it looks good.

Except, that terrible muffler system. It probably works ok, but pretty is isn't!

Yeah, I was expecting a full cat back exhaust instead of patchwork but it does sound nice at least.

If you like it, leave it until it falls apart and then replace it. There are likely aftermarket systems out there from various places like Viva performance or IPD for example. I'd look out for a T304 Stainless system not the cheap crap T407/9 ones that are no better than untreat steal.

I ended up changing the wheel bearing in my backyard today instead of waiting for the lift to be available again since the new part got delayed in transit forcing me to cancel. That was a very unfun experience. Didn't finish until 10 pm tonight. Going to test drive tomorrow, hopefully the condition has improved. I also tested the PCV using the glove test and it passed so that's some further good news.
