Emergency Brake Hardware Refresh 1998 V70

I'm completely replacing the emergency brake components on my v70, and struggled for an evening trying to get the last .25" of slack I needed to get the cable connected to the handle in the car...when I realized the cable end stop at the brake is hexagonal, and was round on the previous (original?) cable. Has anyone else encountered this on these particular aftermarket parts? Cables and brake refresh kit were purchased from the same supplier...I'm guessing grinding the stop down may be the best course of action?

How about putting a big flat blade screwdriver in that slot and opening it up so the hex can slide in?

+1 on that. It looks like it will go with a little tickling. Just make sure that the stop to prevent the cable pulling through all the way still will do the job.

I was never able to get that cable in place with a screwdriver, until I applied some heat to the adjuster.
