Is the C70 coupe a lot different than the s/v70 series?

The dash is slightly different shaped to the V/S70 and V70XC. But I have not seen any major differences other than later ones with the music system.

The C70 and V/S70 have many differences regarding the interior, but the dashboard is 100% the same except for the center console

looks like the under-dash structure isn't 100% the same after all

we took the intact center section with the brackets from a V70 and swapped it with mine. All the brackets on mine were snapped off, and the air ducts were covered in cracks

I do, too

The minor differences in the dash might mean big differences in threading out the driver side damper for temperature control.

Hopefully not. A really small torx bit driver is probably needed to access the screws.

Yeah, it’s a shame the damper didn't die before the dashboard repair. It would’ve been so much easier to replace then

I think I accidentally made a mistake.
I opened the used damper to clean the grease off the track. I lifted the gear without making a mark first.
Now I don't know what position the gear was in. Is this problematic, or does it not matter if you do a calibration anyway?

Do some reading about this on the 99-00-01 models. I remember it is possible to get the HVAC control unit badly uncalibrated

If I install the used damper motor, the calibration won't be right anyway. That's why I'm asking if it's a big deal that I didn't mark the large gear with the sliding contacts before cleaning the grease off the track. Or is the damper motor trash now?

From recently having made this mistake myself, it is possible to install the shaft + gear assembly rotated 90 degrees off from the correct position, and then the sensor position will be impossible to calibrate.
