Volvo 850 - orifice tube looking normal?

Hi everyone,
could you maybe help me figure out if this orifice tube is looking normal?
Here’s a quick background: I bought the car in 2024 with a broken AC system. I’ve since replaced the evaporator under the dashboard and then the orifice tube as well (the drier is also ready to go).

There was a small amount of debris in the orifice tube that I was able to remove with a magnet. Is this wear and tear normal over the years, or is there more significant damage here? The orifice tube appears to still be the original one from the factory, as does the compressor (1996). In any case, I don’t have any documentation for it, and I have a folder with all the receipts since 1996.

Clean with some solvent, blow gently with air to remove pieces, new oring, and reinstall!

Thank you. I’ve already installed a new orifice tube; I’m just unsure whether the condition of the old one reveals anything about the state of the compressor.
(The a/c still needs to be charged).

30 years of AC, that looks pretty good! The big thing is nobody has stuck the bad stop leak gunk in it
