If I was dealing with this I would have removed the chips and used a break out board. I find 99% of chips the data is still salvageable.

Hi all,

Haven't been on here for a while. Spent a lot of time working and messing with my own equipment.
This is what I now use after some development. (Still needs finishing off though, with a 3d printed box or something.)

Code is also reduced to 950 lines.
Still currently testing.
Running 2 canbus chips along with LinBus/Kline.
back light control for the TFT touch screen.

So due to google play requirements, in order for me to release my android application that shows all parts diagrams and info on our cars(up to 2016), I need some volunteers to test the app. But the requirement is I need the actual email you use for google play. If any one is interested you can message me. If you value privacy, that is okay too.

Has a separate button to download the diagrams for parts.

Any internet is fine. The databases are stored on google's servers as PAD, Payload assisted delivery. As such it will download a few files. The diagrams are optional and are around 6.7GBs in size. Any one on a metered plan must pay attention so they are not billed excessively.

I was thinking more about having a VIDA-like diag in good places. And good places have no cellular network.

As soon as the db is downloaded, its all offline. Always on the device regardless of whether you have internet or not. Its just the initial download.
As of now diagnostics dont work, they could nothing prevents us, except...we need a device that can read HiSpeed and LoSpeed can, over wifi or bluetooth that is documented(protocol and stuff), cheap and supports pin switching.
Such devices are CFE(not cheap) and custom devices we use e.g RPI and Teensy(with the appropriate modules).
