I totally spaced out that it was rear diff and not angle gear/bewel gear. However, they work similarly and I believe use the same oil(75w-90?) I think volvo charges around $25 per 1l or something like that. Oil change interval is around 35-50k(depending on driving style, conditions, preferences). It is way cheaper than new unit or used one. I dont remember on top of my head how the level of the fluid needs to be checked in this make/model. It could be until fill plug level vs fill till fill plug level and extract 100cc.eheffel wrote: 05 Jul 2026, 12:13 @vova585. Thanks for the thoughtful reply. I am planning to change the bevel gear oil - but just the oil. The info I've seen [online] only suggests an oil change. But, this is the first Volvo I've owned so I don't know much about them because I haven't had to do any work .... although @ 150k I probably should have done this kind of maintenance stuff a while ago. So, I'd like to hear your thoughts.
