What next?

Odd question to ask, but "If you were to get a car that was not a Volvo to replace your 2013 S60, what would it be?" I cannot afford a new Volvo, the S60's and XC40's that are three/ four years old are still expensive. Plus...not that great mpg or reliability. Having had numerous Volvos (P1800, 240, 740, 850, xc70) I am quite familiar with the brand and its quirks. This would be my wife's car....Need reliability and a 'sense of luxury (as she puts it). Any ideas I can offer her?

Budget? Warranty? Must have features?New vs used? Time frame for purchase? CPO ok? Is lease an option? You have no location listed, so question about service/dealer network should also take a priority.

3 or 5 series Bimmer 6 pot. Plenty about, the market is knee deep in newish ones, but if you fancy a more mature vehicle it shouldn't be difficult to find an older one thats been well cared for.

OK...$30K tops. Sedan...need warranty, I am not fixing cars anymore, tired of wasting weekends under a car. Lease is not an option. NY- Long Island to be exact...but willing to travel a few hours. I have an excellent mechanic for when the warranty runs out.

We recently bought a 2025 Mazda CX-5. Great quality feel to the interior, no turbo, traditional automatic transmission. I’d look at a Mazda 6 or 3.

I think that new Camry is your best bet. Going from 2013 to 2026 car, it will already feel like significant improvement. If you will add necesity to wait for a new car 3-4 months(sometimes less, it is not rav4) it will feel like "elite and luxury ". Warranty, reliability, 5th gen Hybrid system, close to 50mpg, ...yes, you will likely pay around 32-35k for it, but if you will buy anything used for 20k+ you will almost certainly will have to invest close to 3-5k shortly after.
If Toyota is not "cool", new Acura Integra might be a competitor somewhere close to your budget.
