You are not the first to do that. A buddy of mine was complaining of the same issue. Put it up on the hoist and took a few minutes to dawn on me what he had done. The units he had were stamped LH and RH..........!

Just did something similar. The 'boss' keeps bugging me to sell the Toyota 4Runner. I have several jobs to do before advertising it. One of the annoying things is the tailgates are terrible for rusting internally. While ours in not bad as I sprayed it 8 years ago with rust prevention product. Taking the inner cover off I felt around and found on of those red spray tubes for the likes of PB Blaster inside the door.........

The more annoying thing was removing the door actuator module (electric door lock) to access the door inners and after re-assembly, shut the door and the lock did not work. Door jammed closed...! Lock would not work!! Aarghhhhh!

Fortunately it turns out that is a common issue. Fix? Pull the 10A fuse, wait 30 secs and refit the fuse. Lock/unlock the doors with the fob and it is working again.

Guess who gets to do a rear brake job this weekend? Horrible grinding sound from rear this week. Metal on metal. Embarrassing I let it go that long. Purchased pads/rotors at my local Carquest which actually ended up cheaper than Rockauto even to my Detroit mailbox. Supporting Canadian any way I can....

I'll attempt at bleeding them while I'm there. I sprayed the daylights out of them with penetrant on Wednesday; however, I see in the crystal ball...me replacing a caliper in the future.

Both pistons moved fine. Both bleeder screws loosened and plenty of flow. Parking brake shoes and hardware look intact.

Well that is a couple of hours I won't get back! Phew! 2 hours of cursing the Norse Gods to give kick to the back end of the person who designed the CEM and it's fitting to a P2. It may have been easier to remove the driver's set and lie on you back to see what is going on as it is one of those jobs you can see what you have to do, but as soon as you try to get to it your vision is impeded by your hands and arms.

Also why so many connectors? There are 6 I think I recall and none can easily get access to due to extended lower part of the dash which ends just where you have to access the first connectors. Then there is the long hidden Zip-tie around the middle of the units holding it in place and again access is near impossible. Even being able to see and access the fuses is near impossible.

I will definitely let the owner (much younger and bendy) re-install the replacement once received.

He has decided to go for a Xemodex rebuilt unit.

Now I have to try to figure out how to remove the 5 broken pins from the connector to connector C.

prepping for a 200 mile trip to hospital
I find a reduced performance warning, codes are p2121 and p2122, gas pedal.
But I did a lot of messing around dropping the sub frame, I could have hit anything.

I know it often has nothing to do with the code for acc pedal, I see the AC isn't cooling..
Fuse #8 is popped, I had the wrong fuse in there, 5 amp, supposed to be 30.
Stuck a 20 amp in there for now, I don't use the AC anyway.
Codes cleared, warning triangle went out.

Well, yet another trip to the junkyard. Looking for wiring connectors we can chop up for pins for the 'C' (36 pin) connector for the 05 V70 NA which had the corroded pins come off the connector.

My new Volvo friend Harrison and I headed off to the yard with the most P2's of the type where we might get what we needed. Harrison has never been to a PnP yard so it was a new experience. Turned out he was really handy and we quickly got the connector we needed and then I pulled the ECM (07 XC70). Naturally the ECM has a different part number. But it helped us both to see how it came out and allowed us to try to figure out how to refit the one for his car.

Turned out the car was fitted with a HU-850 and still had the amp fitted under the passenger seat. Pulled them both for another friend with a dead HU-850 in his 06 V70 T5. I was determined to so if the units are fitted the same way the P80's upgraded to the SC-900/901 units with the amp under the passenger seat. Turns out they are similar with the control connector (the one with the round body( is very similar, and there is also a separate cable for the speaker wires. However, the difference is in the power cable. Instead of being part of that harness it is part of the main wiring loom that runs down the passenger side of the car. So I now wonder if that connector is left under the carpet and not used with the HU-650?? I pulled the harness for the speaker wires and the control wire that are connected along their length. As I don't need any more heater control units I separated the heater control unit and the radio as I did not want to pay for another heater unit I have been told are coded to each car.

Funny thing, when I got home I texted my buddy to let his know about the HU-850, and he texted back he had fitted one of the HU-650 units I had given him to try. Not only that but he had left the heater controls attached and he says they work just fine!

My mechanic buddy needs a tailgate harness for his 06 XC70 as it has broken wires in the wiring harness at the tailgate. What a swine those are to remove. Didn't help some A-hole had smashed the tailgate glass and every time I snapped another stupid clip that you cannot remove I got a shower of broken glass. I think 100% of the mounting clips broke. Also they broke and some cracked the tailgate plastic around their mounting holes What a stupid clip to use!

Harrison then got excited and found a bunch of other parts he needed for his car. So he happily pulled those parts off. Having the old car he hopes to steadily improve over time, he really enjoyed his first junkyard expedition. Naturally I came home with parts I don't really need. The spare ECM has a different part number so I likely could not use that for cloning, so it will likely go back.

The wiper motor looked like it had been replaced and was almost mint, so I grabbed that as we had removed it to get the connector. In all we pulled 3 connector pig-tails so we can try to salvage the matching wire we need for his car.

So another successful trip!
