This is good:

This is not:

1000 pins in 572 ms, 1748 pins/s, average response: 21 us, histogram 10 to 31 us

87 vs 21 us average response time. I wonder if CEM is not locked, to begin with? Try pin 00 00 00 00 00 00 or FF FF FF FF FF FF.
