On my 2008 S60, the front struts are not long for this world, replacement will be necessary soon. The coil springs are most likely original and probably should be replaced too. According to the identification plate, my front spring type is 43 and shock absorber type is AD.

The 43 type spring with part number 30681588 seems to have a really bad availability and/or a price of over 200 EUR, at least for sellers in Europe. Does anyone have info on a manufacturer that sells springs that are a match for type 43? Or is there a spring with similar characteristics to use as a replacement? Not replacing the springs with the shock absorbers seems like a bad idea because of the springs' age and are most likely sagging a fair bit already as well.

Thanks in advance on any info you might have!

I used Bilstein B4 strut and Lesjofors spring from FCPEuro.
You should be able to find sellers in Sweden or Finland?
If not, then your next trip to Germany...

Strut is Bilstein €105...

You need more than that...bellow, spring bearing etc etc.

I wrote some DIYs in this forum. PNs are included.

Thanks for the link, but none of the springs are a match for 30681588. They seem to replace 9200425, 9492226, 9492227, etc. That's the point of my question, are these springs similar enough to risk using them or not?

I know I need other parts too, but all of those are readily available.

Yes, they fit, no issues.

During those years, Volvo was just experimenting with different springs.

If you want to know the most common coil spring for sale, use autohausaz.com, they only list one choice.

I installed Lesjofors 4095829 in my 2007 S60 4 years ago (2022).
No issues, runs fine.

The difference in the springs is between "good enough" and "exactly right for the Volvo vehicle dynamics engineer with you vehicle's options and vehicle weight." The shocks, struts, and springs available aftermarket are the average perfromance of the different vehicle weights instead of the perfectly tuned part.
