Removed and cleaned the injectors and replaced the plugs in my 02 s60 and it ran like new. Earned its nickname “Peppy”.

Replace the cruise control vaccum pump and the fuel hose.

Whipped through “ Christina” my latest 1998 turbo S70 Beryls Volvo

Fluids all decent , no leaks
Brakes 5mm all around
Tires old but solid tread
Needs serp belt
Battery 11.4 volts
Paint 019 rough
Interior fair
Smooth starter and runner

A month ago I cut open the fuel filter and oil filter that was on the car when I purchased it last year February.

Not sure how old the those are.
There was no grit or any rough feeling on the oil filter.
It looks like metal particles on the filter, but I can’t remember if it was inside the filter or from the Dremel.

I’ll have to pay better attention when I cut open the new old filter that I replaced again earlier this year.

Has anyone ever transported a headliner from a wagon?
Found one in good condition at the local junkyard today.

There’s another on top so it’s blocking the tailgate from opening. Instead I got some other parts, but I do want to go back for that headliner.

I would use a trailer. Cover it with a blanket a hold it down with bungee cords.

Worked on the video of our friend Robert DIY about "How to install the auto down window feature function for the passenger side, Volvo 850", and tried to draw the wiring for those who could need it (me, for example...). I think my schema is correct. If not let me know.

Also received my new fuel hoses... Work to come.

I started driving my 850 again this week, and noticed a "flat spot" when accelerating (push pedal more, nothing changes, until much later).
Sometimes it is good to take a break, then you notice these things more. I was chasing 2 codes from before, 231 and 233, idle fuel trim and long term part throttle.
Today I was sure this had to be the throttle position sensor. I had a new one in stock and replaced it. The "old" one (it is really not old) does indeed cut out to open at one point at ~50%, I measured it.
Had to reset the ECU completely to get rid of the garbage it learned and right now it is working again as it should. hope it stays like that.

I decided to cut open the sensor, and it looks like new. now it also doesn't cut out any more... but I am not going to reuse it.
Just a small story, and a problem fixed (I hope).

I spent 1 1/2 hr removing my headliner. I’m going to temporarily install the other one and clip it in the back anchor point and the 2 anchor points at the sun visor location.

I would’ve installed it as much as possible there, but I forgot I have to remove this crusty antenna, sand the rust off and paint it with a protector. Afterwards I’m installing a DAB aerial, as the coverage from the stick on antenna isn’t good enough for me.

After approximately three years of sitting in my parents’ driveway, the Silver Bullet finally got a new (used) thermostat housing (along with an OE thermostat, temperature sensor and coolant level sensor, Xmodex-repaired throttle, MAF, PCV system, calipers, rotors, pads) and a test drive. Apparently I’d neglected to properly tighten a wheel bolt on the LR wheel and heard a suspicious clang a couple of blocks from the house, went back and found the bolt in the street. Then went and had the four Goodyear tires I’d bought on sale installed.

Next, I’ll get historic plates for it since it’s over the 25-year threshold.
