My wife's 2014 XC 60 has been pretty vague and unstable driving on the highway since we got it used about 5 years ago. I discovered a few days ago the reason why when rotating the tires. It seems that the left rear Suspension Arm Stay as Volvo calls it in the schematic has a significant bend in it. This is the arm that goes around the axle and wheel hub and has an arm that extends to the front of the vehicle with a large bushing on the front of it.
Has anyone had to replace one and how much effort is it? Volvo lists the part for $192 which isn't terrible. It looks like the sway bar link and a bunch of other stuff is bolted to it like the backing plate and the lower suspension link, etc. Plus the shock needs to be unbolted and the lower suspension arm needs to be supported so that the spring doesn't fly out.
2014 XC60 suspension arm stay replacement, has anyone had to do this?

I found one of these Suspension arms this morning at the autowreckers and pulled it and then went home and worked on the car for about five hours installing it. Pictures below show the bend in the old one and how straight the new one is. I can only imagine the curbsmack that must have happened to cause this to bend, as I mentioned I believe this damage occured under the previous owner. I'll take it in this week and get the alignment checked. So relieved to have this fixed !

Yikes! That really took a big hit. No wonder the car was handling weird. Hopefully now after an alignment it will handle a whole lot better and get rid of that slippery surface feeling you were getting. That is quite the find. Well done!
