My 2008 Volvo XC90 3.2 inline 6; 200k miles, in pretty good shape! Problem, surprise red light on dash saying no coolant stop engine, so I parked and investigated. Tried to refill coolant reservoir- quickly realized coolant was just running out of hose (s?) onto ground. Can see point where fluid is dumping out- seems to be a metal piece where fluid should go into radiator? Not sure what that is, will post pictures of area… any thoughts on what it is? Please and thanks in advance!!

Likely broken rad neck, common problem in old car.
Just tow it home.
Search FCPEuro for rad review.
When in doubt, use Volvo genuine part.
Time to replace both hoses too.

Neck detachment is common on plastic radiators. Try to get a replacement with metal inserts inside the plastic necks. These inside rings help prevent hose clamp damage to the neck.
There are several threads about radiator replacements in MVS.
