2005 2.5t. My fuel gauge was not going above half. I took the pump cover off and moved the float back and forth and put the pump back in the tank and the fuel gauge worked again. I was really happy about that!
Later that day, I got a P0089 code. Have not had this code previously. I went back and checked my lines to verify there were no leaks - and there wasn't.
As I drove it would randomly sputter and pop with throttle, so unless I eased the throttle it would just sputter and almost die.
I hooked up VIDA and saw my fuel pressure was roughly 400kPA and my pump duty cycle was ~51%.
I took it for a drive and whenever I take a right turn the duty cycle would go up to 85.16% (even without any throttle input going around the corner) and the pressure would drop to around 250kPa while I limp it along, and down around 130kPA when sitting and idling. It will stay this way until I turn the car left seemingly.
Way too low. I could sometimes turn left and the pump values would go back to normal.
Has anyone seen this before? I'm assuming the pump wasn't exactly lined up when I reinstalled it? I didn't even take it all the way out - just enough where I could move the float to see if the gauge reacted. Once I saw it reacted I put it back in the tank and buttoned it all up. I put the arrow facing the rear of the car.
What I've done since: I swapped the pressure sensor with a couple from the junkyard. No change
There are no leaks
Fuel filter coming tomorrow and I'll change it, but I doubt that's my issue since it's intermittent and only happens when I turn right.

A loose, bare wire grounding when you turn right?

viewtopic.php?t=83957, might be worth looking into for fuel system orientation and description (this is a V8 but same at tank). It's especially important to ensure the ejector hose under the left side sender is fully placed on the bottom of the tank, I'll guess it's easy to dislodge if you pull on the pump. Thread has all the visuals.
May absolutely not be your issue but would hurt to check. Attached notes procedure for R&R for reference.
