Good place to rebuild an engine around md?

I have a 00 v70r motor id like to get checked and rebuilt. trying to find someplace to take it near the central md area.

would i be better off with a different block? or shimming maybe? i figured since i had it and its the same year as my xc it would be the most straight foward awap since the sensors and whatnot are the same year. its gonna probably be mounted to the 5 speed auto from the donor r car and dropped in my xc once the current motor wears out.

Put up your Engine number and part number here and let the experts on these chew on it. The one I’m worried about is the nominal 2.5 liter high boost engines used in later Rs - maybe not in the 2000 MY?

The cylinder bore was wider to get the displacement which leads to thinner walls and cracking, especially if someone has been tracking it

There is a possible difference between the US and Canada 00 V70R. My car's engine is a B5244T2, but all the US sited including FCP list it wrongly. Only IPD get's is right. Most have the older 2.3 liter engine listed.

It is not a straight swap from LPT to HPT engines as you will need an ECU swap and possibly some programming. That is beyond my pay-grade. With the ECU swap being a post 99 it may need an identity swap too. The engine in our 00 R supposedly ran with 265 bhp when new.

the motor says b5244t and right below that 1922455. i got the motor, blue covers (wasnt on the motor if i recall), 5 speed auto and some interior pieces from a trade awhile ago and was told it was all yanked out of the same car. didnt have a turbo on it but have a very low mile 19t for it and a japanifold.
my current car has a stage 2+ from hilton with my 00 xcse and iirc they can flash my ecu to accept the motor and trans. fun car as is right now but getting up in the milage and wouldnt mind dropping a fresh engine that could do a reliable 300-350ish.
