What Euro brands did you own in the past?

What Euro brands did you own in the past?

I had a Porsche 924, a 1978 model. Pretty car, handled well, but it was underpowered. Somehow I never owned a VW, BMW or Mercedes, or any other European brand for that matter except the 924.

I did own a 1980 Plymouth Horizon with a VW engine. You could see the VW logo stamped on the block .

EDIT
I added about 10 brands and it wiped all voting records  . Please vote again.

I had a Fiat X1/9 back in the 70's. A 77 model. It was a fun piece of junk. Slow as Christmas, but could take a 90 degree turn at 60 with no problem.
Used to scare my friends half to death in it

I bet you could only do 8-10 of those a day because it took so long to get up to 60. ;-)

My 924 was slow also, I know your pain. I got it up to 110mph once on open Colorado highway. Once.

Did you ever get it there? A friend of mine had one and we managed 92 on a flat stretch of motorway at 3am. It took about 2 miles from a standing start.

I won't vote in this poll because I can cheat. Also many of the Euro cars I have owned never reached the US. They all sank before they got there, so you won't have heard of them.

I got it showing about 110 once downhill with a 50mph start.

I might have heard of some of the cars you have had. I was in the US Air Force and we went to RAF Mildenhall 6 times when I was in. I spent 2 months each time except the last time I only spent 1 month there and 1 in Athens. England was a fun place to be in the late 70's.

Never heard of Standard or Hillman. But remember the names of the rest and some of the models.

That reminds me - are all of the Volvo's still at the bottom of the drink in the English channel? Volvo was running a "guess where we hid the XC90" promotion at the time and I actually submitted my guess that it was the bottom of the channel when the ship sank.

I didn't win and I suppose they weren't amused.

My 96 VW Golf had the 2.0L w/ just enough options to be comfy, it was the 5 speed, peppy, tons of leg room (more than my 850).. I'm 6'3" and I had to slide the seat forward after sliding it all the way back in order to comfortably reach the pedals.
