I have a few of the LED's in the radio (SC-816) of my 98 S70 T5 that have burnt out and need to be replaced. Does anyone know offhand what the voltage of the LED's are? Or dose anyone have a schematic for the circuit board in a SC-816 they can post or e-mail? Has anyone ever replaced any of the LED's and if so is there anything I need to look out for?
Thanks
TOM

If you are talking about the backlight lamps they are incandescent bulbs, not LEDs.
The lamps that backlight the buttons are easy either by modifying Radio Shack lamps or just buying Honda bulbs. If the lamp that backlights the LCD display is burned out that is a solder in lamp and the Radio Shack 272-1092 bulb will work for it as well but it takes some talent and patience to get the frame off from around the LCD display.

Don't mind my asking I know that almost everything that Volvo makes is great; but have you thought at all about buying a new aftermarket deck. Likely it will have many more features, sound better and you won't be replacing bulb's etc.
However, if the budget doesn't allow that is a hinderance for sure. I brought over the Premier (Pioneer) deck to my 850 Wagon, and it by-far sounds better and is much nicer to use than the factory deck that was in there. Which strangely enough I can't sell for the life of me... hmmm...

Thanks for the info. I purchased the new honda bulbs (Honda PN# 35505-S84-N01) pulled the radio and installed the new bulbs in less than 45min. Thanks again for the info.
In reply to radio upgrade. Other than a few bulbs, the radio works great. Plus, I mostly listen to public talk news radio stations and books on CD's so sound quality really is not much of an issue.
Thanks Again

I read Ozark's note on how to replace bulbs effecting the LED display on the radio. I assume i can follow this to replace the bulb below the LED, so I can see the station etc at night on the radio?
THanks for the site, as a Volvo lover this is great. I also need to know how to replace the bulb behind the LED display for the outside temperate, and perhaps also purchasing the part that takes the outside temperature?? My temperate always is far off, in summer goes up to 120 degrees, and in late November with outside temp around 40 degrees, it shows 65-70 degrees. Any help would be awesome.

For your outside (ambient) temp sensor, it is most likely dislodged from the air damn or air guide...the plastic piece that covers the bottom of your radiator...there's a hole that it snaps in on the passenger side- take a look. You'll know quickly if the temp. sensor is where it's suppose to be or not.

Actually it is on the side of the LED display, not below it. You need to remove the frame and then locate the solder joints from the bottom. Be careful not to damage the LCD display in the process.I assume i can follow this to replace the bulb below the LED, so I can see the station etc at night on the radio?
The Radio Shack bulb works great for the replacement.
