Shifter bulb does light? change process

I read some where about changing the light bulb for the shifter, but I can't find the the thread that explains this, please help finding it.

The bulb has a real strange socket but yes, it is lit. Solutech did a writeup on changing it. If you can solder you can remove the old lamp and solder in a Radio Shack 272-1092 bulb.

This is on a left hand drive car but the basics are the same.

yes it does light up, you have to remove the console and the light is on the drivers side just beneath the shifter...

the bulb is the same as the cigarette lighter...
