OK, two more questions. There are two batteries in my xc70. A smaller one in the engine compartment and a larger one in the rear. Do I need to disconnect the negative on both?
Also, what about the radio code?
Thanks,
tkuper
Which Battery do you disconnect?

I wasn't aware of one up front. What model year are you talking about?

Well I guess I assumed it was a small battery up front. Maybe it's just terminals for cables running from the back. I just want to be sure I don't trip any codes, airbags, or lose my radio. I bought the car used and don't have codes.
By the way, thanks for putting my questions in the correct forum.
Thanks,

ONE battery in the rear.
What in the world are you talking about in the front?
If you mean the small box with a + terminal on it, that's that jump/charge point, nothing more. It makes it easier to charge/jump it instead of trying to get to the battery under everything in the rear of these vehicles!
An 04 has no radio codes, you will not "lose" anything
