PO036 AND PO136

Post by lancechapin »

Hello. I am having difficulty with my 1999 V70 xc awd cross country. I have a check engine light on and I have these codes. po036 and po0136. I replaced the o2 sensor with an aftermarket sensor. Still had the light come back on. So I replaced with a Volvo sensor. Still the light came back on. The scanner tells me bank 1 sensor 2. Is this the sensor after the catalytic convertor? Please help me if you can. I need to tag this car. Thank you, Lance

Hello group. I really need some help on this. I was told by a friend that I might have replaced the wrong o2 sensor. PO136 says bank 1 sensor 2. This is after the catalytic convertor correct? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks. Lance

I think your friend is correct....but check for vacuum leaks too...many times, 02 codes come up when there is a bad air/gas ratio (from leaks).
