v70 non-turbo 2000 Upper engine mount assembly torque

Post by oldredwheels »

Gentlemen,

Can anyone please provide me with the proper torque setting for the 4 bolts that secure the upper engine mount assembly. I've just done the job and used 25 N/m as a starting point but just want to make sure.

p.s. i didn't mess with the bushing, the whole piece cost $55 at the dealer and I figure it would have taken 2 hours and some choice words to try and replace the bushing.

thanks,

oldredwheels :)

Not sure which bolts exactly you're talking about so I'll post this diagram:
torque mount torque specs 2000.jpg
torque mount torque specs 2000.jpg (141.76 KiB) Viewed 1431 times
Where it says, 10Nm that's basically 7.5 ft. lbs
25Nm is 18.5, 35Nm is approx 25, and 45Nm is 33 ft. lbs.
Where it has degree measurements, you go that many more degrees after tightening with the listed torque values.
Hope this helps.

Thanks MIJ,

Mine is the newer cast assembly but the basic torques look about right. I'll leave it at 25 Nm and keep and eye on it.

It it's the larger bolts that say 45Nm +90degrees, I would go ahead and really torque them down. Vibrations can loosen up something that is just at 25.
