96 850 spoiler hold down clip

Has anyone else had one of the side clips on their spoiler rust out? The spoiler is attached to the deck lid at the center where the third brake light is, and at each corner with a metal clip that hooks the edge of the deck lid lip at two places. It is one of those things you never notice until it breaks.

Does anyone know if they sell this clip? I may be able to make something as a substitute, but if it is available I would rather buy the exact piece.

They sell it as a kit. The part number should be 1399234.

I found the mounting kit from Swedish Engineering, factory Volvo part, $45.00. Of course it comes with both side clips and all three pads.

I think tonight I will make an aluminum replacement for the one that is broke instead of spending $45.

I was able to make some very respectable replacement clips out of some aluminum sheet I have. They seem like they will work fine.

I would consider simply removing it. My S70 T5 never had one and it seems to drive just fine. I don't really like the look of them myself.
